Day 19: Colorado- USAFA
Can you guys believe this is the Happy's last day as BLOGGERS? Neither can we.
Here we go!!!
This morning was a bright and early wake-up at 5:30! It's day nineteen, so we could pack up sleeping bags for a job by now, especially our bus packers, the Grumpys! We left the Custer YMCA cleaner than we found it, pulled out for a day of driving, and did some sightseeing!
For our first stop, the rest area, and our second stop of the morning was the Flying J! We treated ourselves to Cinnabon, pizza, chicken tenders, burgers, and many other snacks. We loaded up after this and got back on the road to head towards the U.S. Air Force Academy.
When we got to the U.S. Air Force Academy, we began by taking group pictures in front of the airplane statues out front. We were very lucky to get to visit the visitor center, since it has only been open for around 7 weeks! Touring the museum parts of the visitor center was very educational and interesting, with the many interactive videos and displays. To finish our time here, we did a gift shop takeover and then heard from Maddie Potter with her research on the Academy!

After more driving, we reached the Garden of the Gods Visitor and Nature Center, featuring the natural Colorado beauty. They too had a very fun walk-through tour, including exhibitions, interactive tablets with games and quizzes, and a gift shop. Finally, we loaded up one last time to head to our campsite tonight, the Colorado College athletic facilities.

Before coming inside, we spent time in the park outside the facility. We practiced for today's competition, played hacky sack, volleyball, football, read our books, hung out with our friends, and had a rock-paper-scissors competition. Not only did we have a complete blast playing, but our cooks treated us to DOMINO'S, a variety of drinks, and cookies!!!!!!!!

We brought our things inside with the help of our bus packers and got set up while waiting for our competition to start.
You may be wondering, what is today's competition? A DANCE COMPETITION!!!!!! After lots of hard work and practicing, we became a quiet and respectful audience. Everyone did a phenomenal job showing off their moves and teamwork, and we clapped and yelled for all our friends (competition).

After a surprise entry by our counselors, which was SO fun to watch, we had a quick meeting before the winners were announced.......THE GRUMPY'S!!!!!! Congratulations to them (although the Happy's did a great job)
We're showering and getting ready for bed now for a long and fun day tomorrow, and it's the Happy's last day as bloggers! It's been such an amazing time to share with everyone what we've been doing, and WE LOVE YOU ALL!
