Day 2: New Orleans
Reporting for duty its the Bashfuls again here to tell you about day 2! We woke up at 6am, all wet from the dew, with thunder and lightning on the way. We made it out of the campgrounds around 6:45, heading straight for the University of Auburn.
A beautiful sunrise with ants and snakes at FDR State Park.
After arriving on campus, we listened to our group members, Houston and Amelia, present to us about Auburn and the state of Alabama.

At the rest stop arriving in Mississippi, many formed the letters with their hands, and others jumped in at the last minute!
The long bus rides were getting to us, so we started doing anything to keep us busy. As you can tell, the maps from New Orleans were quite fun to play with!
We then traveled through Mississippi toward New Orleans, Louisiana, to which we arrived around 2:30pm in our time zone.
Kyleigh telling us about Jackson Square.
Madison Darnell telling us about the St. Louis Cathedral.
Peyton Young telling us about the Café Dumonde.
Bailey Curlee telling us about the state of Louisiana.
Karmen Price telling us about Bourbon Street.
After presentations, we walked as a group to the St. Louis Cathedral to take some beautiful photos. We were then allowed an hour of free time. Many of us walked to get souvenirs, food, and pictures, with many of us stopping to get beignets and gumbo.

This was the last picture taken today as a group before we split up to explore New Orleans.
Posing on Bourbon Street, everybody is getting ready to group up and go their separate ways.

Exploring around the city of New Orleans
After exploring the city, we hopped back on the bus and headed towards our campsite for tonight. Once at the campsite, we practiced for our Dixieland Delight competition. This consisted of us coming up with a routine of singing and dancing to the song.
Before we performed the dances, we ate hot dogs, corn, and popsicles for dessert.
The grumpy group ended up winning the competition after we saw everyone perform their very creative dances.
